Cultural Lesson- Qingming Festival
This time in our cultural lesson we were talking about history of Qingming Festival or also kown as Pure Brightness Festival or Tomb-sweeping Day. It falls on either April 4th or 5th of the gregorian calendar. It is a very important day of remembering and paying respect to the dead. It is time when people visit cemeteries, sweep the tombs and offer sacrifices to our ancestors.
Curiously, this festival is also called "Cold food festival" and now it became a custom to eat cold food during that period. Therefore, we had some snacks at Omeida as well! Juicy pineapple and delicious green sticky rice dessert with peanuts inside!
