2015.11.18.Cultural Lesson - Chinese Tea

Tea culture is a practice of continuous improvement for making tea, appreciating tea, smelling tea, drinking tea and tasting tea. This practice has gradually developed into a generally accepted principle and hence formed a cultural phenomenon within Chinese culture.

Ailsa she is really interesting in Chinese tea.

Any tea is best enjoyed using the traditional Chinese method of tea-making known as 功夫茶Gōngfūchá (Tea With Great Skill). This highly controlled method of tea-making is characterized by using small teapots and multiple brews with very short steeping times of just a few seconds

From exotic flowers like chrysanthemum to individual cakes of fermented pu'erh, Chinese tea comes in all shapes and sizes. This week our students tried several varieties prepared in the traditional Chinese method, which is noted for its small teacups and quick steeping time. The light and fragrant tieguanyin(铁观音) oolong tea was wonderful! Which kind of tea is your favorite?
