I came to Omeida in November 2011 to continue my studies in Chinese. I started learning Chinese in the UK in March 2011, therefore it was important to me to find a school that could assess my level quickly so that I could join a class straight away.
Omeida Language School in Yangshuo has the perfect surroundings to come and study Chinese compared to other places in China. The countryside and mountains are easily accessible by bicycle so any free time you have between studying you can relax and enjoy the sunshine!
Before starting lessons, Becky, my teacher at Omeida assessed my Chinese and decided which class I should join. Omeida is very flexible as you can join lessons on any Monday. I did one month intensive course, which meant 6 lessons per day, 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. My morning lessons focused on listening and speaking and my afternoon lessons focused on grammar.
Omeida Language School teachers have many diverse teaching techniques which include practicing previously learnt grammar, games practicing sentence structures, watching Chinese cartoons and movies together etc etc. All lessons are also taught in Chinese so it is impossible not to improve whilst at Omeida.
In summary, I would recommend Omeida to anyone wishing to study Chinese in China. Omeida attracts a diverse group of students so you will meet lots of interesting people, and more importantly, learn Chinese whilst having lots of fun!
