Days in Omeida, Yangshuo by Alisa
Alisa, a 16-year-old German girl, has been studying Chinese for 4 years, stayed in Omeida with us for one month. She posts pictures on her Tumblr. Here are some really good shots of her amazing days and wonderful experience.
I’m finally in Yangshuo!!! After 18 hours of flight and drive I’m at one of the most beautiful places you can imagine. I’ll take some photos as soon as I can… First I have to deal with my jet lag ^^ So far I’ve only met really nice people and my apartment is also better that I thought. Now I’ve got to get to a rehearsal for our talent show tomorrow, I guess it’ll be interesting…
So this was my first day at Omeida and I really enjoyed it :) In the morning I went to the city centre, which is not that big but quite beautiful. I had some really good mango lassi there ^^ I really like the fact that you can get them nearly everywhere here. Then I had to go to class, which is so different from normal Chinese classes! We’re only 3 students and talk a lot. It’s fun! The teachers are really friendly too, so I can only say that I hope for many days like this one :) In the evening there was kind of talent show, which was really funny, because we just sang some song and that was it, but the Chinese students took that really really serious and wanted to look like a super star while singing. It was really funny watching their show! It was a really great day, and I still have to do homework now… You’ll hear from me tomorrow! Have a great day!
Today was really… Special day…I had a really funny Chinese lesson like you can see in the first pic. We had to write a story with the new vocabulary with a partner and in the end it got really crazy. It’s about Chinese people being famous for sticking cakes to the windows of the subway… After school I met Zoe and we planned our weekend. WE WILL GO RIDING ON SATURDAY!!! And some shopping, bars, etc… but I will go riding :)) I really miss my two babies at home… I’d have taken Esra and Comptess with me if I could :( So far my day was great…I still wanted to go out and take some photos, but then my friend texted me and told me that one of our German schoolmates committed suicide, so I’m a little confused right now, I still have to realize that…So the other photos are just taken from my room. The view is wonderful, isn’t it? I love it here…
Yesterday I went to the Li river with Zoe. I love it there!
And to make day perfect we went swimming in the river afterwards. We just jumped in in our normal clothes and all the Chinese people thought we were crazy ^^ But it was so much fun! The best thing was the way the people looked at us on our way home. We walked through the town, our cloths totally wet, and laughing… it was a really good day… :) I love the weekends here…
And the best thing was that we went riding there with Maria, Zoe’s language partner from Portugal. They both sat on a horse for the first time ^^ It was fun…
This is Gary, a really nice guy from Guang Dong. He is my language partner here and helps me a lot to improve my Chinese and goes (nearly) everywhere I want with me on the weekends because the Chinese girls are too lazy… Thanks, Gary!
