This time during our cultural lesson we were watching the first episode of the famous documentary called "A Bite of China".
A Bite of China ( 舌尖上的中国; Shéjiān shàng de Zhōngguó) is a Chinese documentary television series about the history of food, eating, and cooking importance in China. In total it consists of two seasons, seven episodes each that introduce the history and story behind various delicacies in more than 60 locations in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Bamboo shoots is a traditional forest vegetable in China for more than 2,500 years, it is not only delicious but are also rich in nutrients, and are arguably ranked among the five most popular healthcare foods in the world.
In Japan for example, the bamboo shoot is called the King of Forest Vegetables.
Lotus root, Jiayu County, Hubei
Crunchy, delicate flavoured, lotus root is an edible rhizome (root) of lotus plant. Almost all the parts of the plant: root, young flower stalks, and seeds are being employed in the cuisine.
It is said that lotus root has a wide range of health benefits: ability to improve digestion, reduce cholesterol, lower blood pressure, boost the immune system, prevent various forms of cancer, balances mood and relieves depression, increases circulation, and maintain proper enzymatic activity in the body.
