Cycling to Fuli
To experience our Chinese fans culture, we visited Fuli, one of the Chinese fans home towns. Chinese fans have a very long lasting history.
Fan in China has played the role as a sheltering from the sun, keeping off sands for the emperor till Han dynasty. Since Han people used fan as a tool cooling themselves, it has been created in many different classifications. Such as folding fan, round fan, bamboo strip fan, feather fan, thin silk fan, sandalwood fan and so on. According to its function, those fans are divided into different types. For example, there are fans of dancing, Taichi fans, decoration fans etc. We saw all different kind of fans in Fuli ancient town.
This time to Fuli was not just for Chinese fans, and also a trip for the local food there. In the local market, we found a very original place for our break. There we tasted the local food oil tea and Baba, a type of Chinese cake is made of wheat and rice. They are usually fried and steamed, and tasted very good.
