sān yuè sān mín gē jié 三月三民歌节
The third day of the third month of lunar calendar is called “Sanyuesan Folk Song Festival” in Guangxi.

There are many things to do of celebrating the festival in Guangxi. Nowadays, Sanyuesan Folk Song Festival attracts million of tourists every year, due to its Zhuang culture.

Go for the Song Fair 赶歌圩gǎn gē xū
Zhuang girls will throw a绣球xiù qiú(a ball made of strips of silk ) to young men in the Songs Fair, they neatly line up to sing folk songs, to see if there are their Mr. Right.

对歌duì gē
In the mountains only the vine twists around a tree. Who has seen a tree twine a vine? If the green vine does not twist around the tree, the lifetime year after year shall be spent in vain.
You do not harvest the bamboo when time is ripe. You do not keep the bamboo shoot whereas it should be done. You do not pick up the silk ball whereas you should do. And your empty hands can only hold worries and woe.
Let’s get engaged. We two will be engaged foe future marriage of 100 years. Whoever dies at the age of 97, shall wait for the other for three years at the gate of the heaven paradise.

竹竿舞zhú gān wǔ
All young people who had got a 绣球xiù qiú from the girls will get together dancing the bamboo dance to see if you could be in tune with them.

五色糯米饭 wǔ sè nuò mǐ fàn
Colorful sticky rice is made of sticky rice in five colors which mean everything going well. In the Song Fairs, the local families cook colorful sticky rice to treat the guests from around villages or even far away from home people. They just want to make a good wish for the people who is participating the festival and themselves as well.

After the cultural lesson, our teacher Phoebe and her friend taught us how to make Baozi(a Chinese steamed bread). Everybody was extremely excited of making Baozi as it is a very common food in China.

Look at Alain, he seems like a Chinese kitchen man doing well done rolling pin work.

Our Baozi is stuffed eeg and Chinese chieves.

For many of our students, it was the first time to make Baozi. But they do really are good at making it. When you miss Chinese food, cook your own and cook the easier and tasty one.

How enjoyable is it!
