Social Responsibility
BBQ Social Night
Every Thursday night at Omeida College is social night, where all the students and teachers from both the Chinese and English language departments come together to have a fun evening of games, activities or competitions. Social night is free, put on by Omeida College, and everyone looks forward to it.
Last Thursday 21stJuly the social night was a huge barbeque. It was held out the front of the English department, where there were five barbeques set up to grill the different meats, sausages, tofu and corn on the cob. With over 250 people attending, there was a lot of food! For desert we shared about ten large watermelons, which were sweet and juicy. There were also free drinks; beer, soft drink and juice. The food was delicious, and by the end of the evening we were all extremely full.
The students and teachers had a wonderful time chatting to friends and meeting new people. Later in the evening, the large screen TV was wheeled outside and some of the students watched a movie under the stars.
