This weekend, we went to Liugong, a small village at the Li River, about 15 km east of Yangshuo town proper. Unlike the villages that from Yangdi to Xingping, Liugong is not visited by many visitors, so it maintained the cultural identity, traditional architecture and simple farming life.
Andy, Sonia, Maria and Luke were the first team heading to Liugong, while Wency set her foot out an hour later.
On the road, we came across a real bamboo arch!
A farmer was working on his water chestnut land.
After two hours cycling, we finally reached Liugong. Buildings here are over hundreds of years old.
A native went across the gate of Deyuelou, which means literally Moon Fetching Tower.
Picture taken at the middle of a mountain gives a great view of the Li River.
And at the bottom of the mountain lies a huge cave due to the karst landform.
This trip was a challenge to us that it took another two hours to cycle back to downtown. Nonetheless, we enjoyed a lot and worked out a bit, so it was worthy.
