福 Fu means happiness and good fortune. In Chinese, 'upside down' 倒 and 'arriving' 到 are pronounced the same - dao. Many families paste this character upside down on their door to represent happiness and good fortune arriving.

It was a beautiful day in Yangshuo on the Eve of Chinese New Year. Chinese and foreign students went shopping together at the market to buy ingredients to make dumplings.
