Cultural class-the Lantern Festival
The Lantern Festival falls on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month. This is the first full moon of the new year, symbolizing unity and perfection. Lantern Festival is an important part of Spring Festival, and marks the official end of the long holiday.
We learned the customs about the traditional festival in the cultural class this week. Students in Chinese Academy had fun in creating colorful lanterns. And we competed in riddles competitions with students in English College.At the end of the class, we ate yuanxiao to celebrate and make a wish for the year.

Yuanxiao is sweet dumplings made with glutinous rice flour, one of the special traditions of Lantern Festival.
