The popularity of cocktails began, at least partly, due to the need to cover up the bad taste of some of the bootleggers. Some of the cocktail recipes used today were invented in the days of Prohibition as cocktail recipes flourished in illegal bars, parties, and clubs in major American cities.

A cocktail is a mixed alcoholic drink containing two or more ingredients. Last week, we had a cocktail party for our social night, we talked about the history of the cocktail and how to make a great cocktail with our Chinese friends, but the biggest surprise was that our Chinese friends are not very good at drinking.
