The Very Popular Taichi Style Chen and Yang
Juan and Claudia are from Spain. They have been learning Taichi for many years. And they have been to the very famous Taichi holy land Wudang. There they learnt from Taichi masters who are promoting “harmony” concept.
There are many tapes of Taichi. However, why Chen style and Yang style are so popular nowadays? In order to publicize Taichi culture and help people keep fit, our coach suggests to take the style which is fit you the best.
At the beginning of our Taichi cultural class, Juan and Claudia performed a set of movements. Later on, a Tuishou movement was shown. And some of us had a Taichi Tuishou experience. At our Omeida Language School we have Taichi training classes for students and stuff as well. It aims to build a fit balance among study, work and life.
Chen Style Tai Chi is amazingly beautiful to do and to watch when performed well. It has a wide variety of training methods that are performed solo or with a partner, and contain both slow and fast movements. And it’s amazingly beautiful to do and to watch when performed well.
As with Chen, Yang style’s body movement should come directly from the 'dan tian', the abdominal region, with the whole body moving naturally around it as one unit, one Qi, all without using physical effort. The pace remaining fairly slow, even and gentle.
Ultimately Yang style is accessible to the majority of people and as such a great path for people to make use of to bring the body towards a deeper state of relaxation. It is also easily adapted for people of weaker constitution, and so ideal as a practice for the recovery and maintenance of good health.
