This February marked the first ever annual Yangshuo Fun Run. It started as an idea for a student activity and developed into an initiative which can bring benefit to the community for years to come. Both Omeida students and other members of the community could join the 5km walk/run to help raise funds for a local village school. The route encapsulated the best of what Yangshuo has to offer; majestic mountain peaks, local markets, historic Xi Jie (West St) and the famous Li River. Donations from participants as well as local businesses meant enough money was raised to enable the primary school to purchase stationery, educational resources and sporting equipment to assist with the children's learning.
