Cultural class for this week was given on stone painting. We prepared all the materials for our students. Everyone in class was so imaginative.
As we know, stone painting is popular because of the convenient materials used. These materials are available everywhere, and you can keep the finished product for a long time. There are famous folk artists that paint stones.
People design and decorate patterns on the stones based on the materials and the shape of the stone. Ink and brushes are the main materials needed for the art.
It’s the first time for Xaxa to try this art and she painted a blue fish.
Katy is our new student, she arrived at last weekend. She is very experienced in stone painting. And she set about doing it quickly, and finished two stones!
Robert showed creative skill in our cultural class. He drew a ladybug.
Leasha joined our art class with her student. She is interested in Chinese ink and wash. Therefore, she drew the landscape on the stone.
It is Niel’s last week in Yangshuo and he designed the landscape of Yangshuo on his stone. We are all sure that his one-month life here will be an unforgettable experience in China.
Some of our students from English college also did a good job. Lotus flowers and Elephant Trunk Peak inspired much of their art.
Cultural class is on the schedule the first three Tuesdays of every month. Cultural class provides an opportunity for students from both colleges to learn more about Chinese Culture, and to interact and share their experiences.
