It is a time when Chinese people offer sacrifices to the Kitchen God. On 23rd of December, the Kitchen God is head up to report his sum of the year in the folk to the Heaven Emperor. People believe that the Kitchen God could bring them good wishes. They will make Tanggua, a kind of sugar snack, for the Kitchen God. Nowadays, most families just cook delicious food for themselves to enjoy. In some parts China, people also clean their homes thoroughly, including their clothes and bedclothes.
